30 in 30 Week 2 Recap!

30 Crafts in 30 Days: Week Two Recap

Hey everyone! Time flies when you’re crafting up a storm (or, you know, when life gets in the way). I’m now two weeks into my *30 Crafts in 30 Days* journey, and while I didn’t hit a craft every single day, I’m still going strong with two more weeks to go. Here’s what I’ve been up to so far!

Day 8 – Spooky Season Kicks Off!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so naturally, I dove headfirst into it by making some Halloween necklaces. Picture tiny pumpkins, black cats, and little ghosts hanging on black cord.

Day 9 – Earrings, But Make It Halloween

Since I was still in the Halloween mood (honestly, when am I not?), I whipped up some matching earrings to go with the necklaces.

Day 10 – A Beach Day with a Twist

No new crafts today unless you count brownies!! Baking is a craft, right? Our day started off hot and humid—so much so that we had to stop halfway to the beach for an AC break, since the truck doesn’t have air conditioning. Of course, the moment we took a breather, the clouds decided to roll in and change the whole vibe of our beach trip. By the time we got to Assateague, it was windy, chilly, and overcast. But we made the most of it! James, as usual, was off fishing, and the kids and I played on the sand, despite the less-than-ideal weather. Later, we headed home and baked brownies to celebrate Artemis’ birthday a day early, since Friday was going to be all work and no play.

Day 11 – Candles, Melts, and a Cursed Pumpkin.

Friday was back to work. I cranked out some Halloween tin candles and wax melts, plus a "Cursed Pumpkin Bath Soak" that smells as eerie as it sounds. It was a pretty spooky-productive day, if I do say so myself.

Day 12 – Slime Workshop Madness

Saturday was a full-blown whirlwind with slime workshops that took up the entire day. I didn’t make anything new, but I did help a bunch of kids and a few adults create their own gooey masterpieces. All and all a great day at Hansens Craftory.

Day 13 – Burnout is Real, but Labels Got Done

Sunday… Let’s just say I hit a wall. No new crafts, but I didn’t completely slack off. Armed with a cup of coffee (because tea just doesn’t cut it), I spent the day working on product labels. Not the most exciting task, but definitely one that needed to get done. Sometimes the behind-the-scenes work is just as important as the fun stuff.

Day 14 – Clean Sweep!

By Monday, I was back in action and made a big ol’ batch of laundry bar soap to be turned into powered laundry soap. Not the most glamorous craft, but hey, practical counts! Plus, the ingredients are easier to pronounce: coconut oil, soybean oil, water, lye…

So, that’s a wrap on week two! With two more weeks to go, I’m excited to see if I can hit that 30-craft mark. Stay tuned, because who knows what’s coming next—maybe more Halloween goodies, maybe a beach day or two… Let’s see how this plays out!
